10 items you need in your bridal suite...

Getting ready on your wedding day is a busy time, but it should also be so much fun!

1. THE BRIDE'S DRESS

This is a bit of a no-brainer, but it never hurts to add it to the list!

Sometimes the bridal suite isn’t where the bride is getting dressed. There is a difference between a bridal suite & a dressing room. The bridal suite is where you and your girls will pop the champagne, have your make up done and take all the stunning photos, but you may want to slip into your dress in a more private setting aka. the dressing room.

Don’t forget to have your dress in your bridal suite for the photos, then you can take it with you to change.

2. HANGER FOR THE BRIDE'S DRESS

Often, when you get your drop-dead-gorgeous dress from the bridal shop it is on a cringeworthy plastic hanger. Do yourself a favour & avoid getting your photos back and noticing a cheap-looking hanger against a luxurious gown. Do the same for the bridesmaids dresses if you are going to have them photographed.

3. A COPY OF THE INVITATION SUITE

This includes your invitation, rsvp card, envelope(s), details card, etc. Photographers love to photograph these, and so often they get forgotten.

It’s likely you won’t keep your invitation suite for very long, as paper doesn’t last forever. It only takes a moment to pack an extra copy in to your bridal bag!

4. ALL THE BRIDE'S ACCESSORIES

As the bride, you will need your shoes, veil, earrings, necklace, garter, undergarments and literally everything you are going to put on as you get dressed. Photographers will also use some of the accessories in photos, so it is important to have everything with you!

5. PERFUME & MAKE UP

Yes, even your perfume, mascara, mattifying powder, and any other cosmetics. Make sure it’s all gather in one place in case you need a touchup.

6. ALL OF THE WEDDING RINGS

This means the grooms wedding band too! There should be at least 3 rings; the bride’s engagement ring, the bride’s wedding ring & the groom’s wedding band. Additional rings can be included too, such as heirloom rings if they are important to the bride or groom. The more the merrier!

7. THE BRIDE'S BOUQUET

Discuss this with your florist beforehand to make sure this is possible. Having your bouquet in your bridal suite with you, not only gives you time to inspect & appreciate it but also allows your photographer to include it in photos. Bonus points if you can have your bouquet & the bridesmaids bouquets in the bridal suite as you get ready.

8. DEVICE TO PLAY MUSIC

This has nothing to do with planning, co-ordination or your photographer! This is for you and your girls to have some music to listen to while you get ready, setting the tone for the day and easing any nerves you might have.

9. WATER, FOOD & SNACKS

While you may be too nervous to eat much, it is important to have plenty of water and food/snacks in your bridal suite! Keep  hydrated! It is tempting to only have champagne, but it’s important to drink some water as well.
